Health Section II - Diagnosis

In this section of Autism Health Hub®, we will focus on be exploring the symptoms you have been noticing in your child and the process in which professionals use to reach a diagnosis.

We will also explore the basic information on the pathway to diagnosis, where you can find help and information on types of assessment.  

The diagnosis is attained via a series of interviews based on specific guidelines and criteria. We will explore these specific diagnostic criteria and explain each individual diagnostic tool. We will try to make it easier for you, parent or carer, to understand the child’s symptoms.

In this section of Autism Health Hub®, we will suggest small changes in the parent’s day to day routine which may potentially help them better cope with the stresses that they will encounter through this journey.

We may suggest activities that you and your child can do together or that you, as a parent, may do when you feel overwhelmed and tired. We will also inform you of therapies that are available to help your child to thrive.
