Developed by Dr Iona Bramati, PhD, this postgraduate programme explores an integrative clinical approach to autism spectrum presentations through osteopathic observation, neurovisceral regulation, and interdisciplinary reasoning.

The programme combines clinical practice, research, and reflective learning within a structured educational framework designed for qualified osteopaths and healthcare professionals interested in complex neurodevelopmental presentations.

Bramati® and
Autism Health Hub®

The Autism Health Hub® for professionals is a platform created as a center of excellence for teaching and promoting the Bramati® Method.

Our priority is to enhance the teaching of osteopathic practices focused on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in an ethical, didactic, and effective way, with the primary goal of ensuring the safety of the patients being treated.

In addition to international courses, both online and in-person, students can obtain certification in the Bramati® Method through the Autism Health Hub®.

Created by Dr. Ioná Bramati, PhD, Autism Health Hub® for professionals aims to disseminate postgraduate courses on the Bramati® Method in the UK, Europe, and Brazil, establishing the benchmark for teaching in this field. Students who complete the certification will not only learn from the pioneer of this treatment approach but also become eligible to be included in the Autism Health Hub® Professional Network Session.

Research & Clinical Context

Dr Iona Bramati was awarded a PhD for her research investigating the effects of visceral osteopathic techniques on gastrointestinal function and behavioural patterns in autistic children.

Her doctoral research was conducted in collaboration with the University of Westminster and King’s College Hospital London, with endorsement from the National Autistic Society (NAS).

The programme reflects an ongoing commitment to clinical observation, patient safety, interdisciplinary dialogue, and research-informed osteopathic education.

The Course

Comprehensive and Exclusive Course for Osteopaths 

An Osteopathic Approach to Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD): The Bramati® Method offers in-depth training structured in three stages, providing continuous, flexible, and supervised learning. Our mission is to ensure you feel confident in applying osteopathic principles to the care of children with ASD, aligned with best practices and patient safety.

Programme Philosophy

  • Integrative Clinical Reasoning: Explore the relationship between autonomic regulation, visceral function, gut–brain interactions, and behavioural presentations within osteopathic clinical practice.
  • Research-Informed Perspective: The programme is informed by Dr Bramati’s doctoral research and ongoing clinical observations involving gastrointestinal and neurodevelopmental presentations in autistic children.
  • Reflective & Practical Learning: The course combines online theoretical modules, practical in-person training, and supervised clinical discussions designed to support safe and thoughtful integration into practice.

Professional Development in Complex Clinical Presentations

This programme is designed to encourage deeper clinical observation and integrative thinking when working with neurodevelopmental and multisystem presentations in osteopathic practice.

The programme is designed for qualified osteopaths.

Course Structure

This comprehensive course is designed with a practical and accessible approach to optimize the learning experience. The program consists of 36 hours of training, delivered over a period of 8 months, and includes:

  • 15 Hours of Online Lessons:  Self-paced modules delivered through the Autism Health Hub® platform, allowing participants to learn at their convenience. Completion of all online modules is mandatory before the in-person training.
  • 15 Hours of In-Person Practical Training: Practical clinical sessions led by Dr Iona Bramati, PhD, focusing on osteopathic observation, palpatory reasoning, and integrative clinical discussion within a supervised educational setting. 
  • 6 Hours of Monthly Supervision via Zoom: Monthly online supervision sessions dedicated to clinical reflection, case discussion, interdisciplinary dialogue, and ongoing professional support.
  • Case Report for Certification: Participants must submit a case report demonstrating the practical application of the techniques learned when treating a patient with ASD.

This structure ensures a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge, hands-on practice, and continuous professional support.

Dr. Ioná Bramati received the PhD degree in recognition of her research work on the “Effects of Visceral Osteopathic Techniques on the behavior and gastrointestinal function of autistic children”.
Dr. Bramati, PhD, was recognized at ICAOR10 for her outstanding research into treating gastrointestinal symptoms in autism using visceral osteopathy. She was honored with the Elsevier/International Conference on the Advancement of Osteopathic Research – New Researcher Prize.
Dr. Bramati sees a wide variety of patients with a particular focus on pediatrics and autistic children. She is the only professional in the world with a doctorate in the effects of Visceral Osteopathic Technique applied to autistic children, and is incredibly passionate about integrating and elevating services provided to children, their parents and caregivers.
